I know I'm coming at this from a very personal angle, but it really pisses me off when guys are all, "oh, woe is me, she left and took the kids and cleaned out my bank account and now I have to pay blah blah blah blah ( ... )

I really hope the upcoming generation of men will not feel so entitled.

All he had done, he said, was smack his 4-year-old daughter and bloody her mouth after she licked his hand as he was putting her to bed. Feminist-crafted anti-domestic violence legislation did the rest.

fuck this guy. I hate men so, so much sometimes. men are so goddamn entitled and they need SUCH a reality check and I don't know if it will EVER get through to them.

This sounded a little familiar. There was something similar that happened in Korea earlier this year, except it was meant to be a publicity stunt.

In the context of the USA, the only thing I agree with these people on is the bias of the family court system. I do think that it's biased in favor of the mother, especially when it comes to child custody. Obviously this man is not a good example of that, having smacked his young child bloody -- she should have been kept from him.

Well in Mass at least, the statistics don't bear that out. This blog which condenses the info from Mass, has other data and this blog which has more state neutral links also suggest that the bias is based on who actually spends time with the children, which is still biased towards mothers. That last link also has plenty of anecdata from men and women whose experiences are in favor of bias. I do think that the anecdata from the men that their lawyers tell them there's a bias and then tell to cave in settlement has merit as a bias in the system, and I'm sure there are judges out there who will give to the mother regardless, but I'm not sure judicial bias is evident across the board as MRAs imply.

I've seen stats on this nationwide too but don't have them saved. But what they showed was that when men seek custody, they typically get at least joint custody. The bias toward women in custody is actually that men just don't want it.
