I really respect the Icelandic approach to these things. It's very dignified, I think. Mind, Iceland seems to have their shit together on a lot of things, so I guess that fits.
Out of tradition I went to Catholic Midnight Mass with the family tonight - always a chance to think about the absurdities in the religion I was raised in. Seriously, I'll believe elves before zombie!Jesus, virgin birth, and transubstantiation of the host and wine. Especially when those elves are clearly rooted in metaphorical myth for real, tangible interactions with the natural environment
