Fuck if this'll stop me. I doubt very much they'll arrest anyone feeding the homeless on a small scale, but if they do I'd be fucking proud to have that on my record.

God this is so infuriating, why don't we just oh I don't know HELP THEM GET OFF THE STREETS instead!

They are living in my bushes and they are living in my next door neighbor’s crawl spaces. We have a neighborhood which now seems like a mental ward.”

It sort of grosses me out that the people in this story keep talking about the homeless in the same way I see most people talk about, say, raccoons that got into the garbage. These are actual human beings who are hungry, not vermin, so stop treating them that way.

How about you put some money some real fucking solutions instead of reducing the homeless to the status of feral cats?

For fuck's sake.

where are the constitution/2nd amendment freedom fighters to save my right to do WHAT I WANT WITH MY OWN FOOD?.

OT-
in nyc, folks who don't want to hop the subway (against the law) but can't afford the ride ask folks to "swipe" them in. even if the metrocard carrier has an unlimited, this swiping has been declared legal by the courts (BECAUSE THE METROCARD OWNER CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR PROPERTY). however, nypd has decided the requesting of swipes is illegal "panhandling". so, you know, that person who was trying to get to work/an interview/school now gets a fine/arrest on their record. THANKS BLOOMBERG/RAY KELLY. ugh.

Someone I know got arrested a few different times for standing in subway stations and swiping people in with his unlimited card as often as it would allow. They couldn't get him on panhandling or solicitation because he was giving people free rides instead of asking for them, so they cited him for loitering and a bunch of other nonsense each time. They also kept confiscating his Metrocard.

i really wish nypd would go do real police work.

smh. he should look into legal representation. because that's police harrassment and they have no legal basis for confiscating the card. i forget the case or i'd cite it. i'm also not an actual lawyer, i don't even usually play one on the internet. but man! nypd just is too full of bad eggs.

I do wonder if conservatives want to go back to when poor people--small children!--stole or did sex work or starved. Folks accepted it as right and normal even when they saw the bodies.

Oh, I know, I know, there's little thinking involved.
