I am thankful it was contained quickly. It seems like many more people could have been hurt, and I am glad that wasn't the case. My cousin's husband, who was on a short layover at LAX during the shooting, just got word his flight from this morning was cancelled and rescheduled to this evening. It's gonna be a nightmare getting everything back in order, I bet.

i have a friend who works TSA at Orange County, which i wasn't sure of. luckily she posted on FB early before we all started freaking out on her. terrible, terrible :(

I have two friends who work for the TSA at LAX... One of them is off work today but I haven't heard from the other one. I hope he's OK.

Update: He's OK, he was working in a different area than where the shooting happened.

my friend who works TSA at the Orange County airport said that the shooter was apparently a disgruntled ex-TSA agent from LAX

CNN is saying that he was not a TSA employee. (Or ex-TSA)

And UPI has reported his name and also say that he was never a TSA employee.

Edited to add-CNN is confirming the above UPI information.

Who knows. Maybe he got pulled aside for an enhanced pat down and it pissed him off. Maybe he just focused his rage at the Federal Government on a target that everyone loves to hate.

saw a TSA agent get on, limping. “His right ankle is injured and he gets on and sits in the seat next to me, and I said, ‘Are you OK?’ He said, ‘I’m fine. I got shot. Don’t worry, I’ve been shot before,’”

How unbelievably bad ass is this guy? x__x
