Actually, this *does* 'reflect the belief or feelings' of the GOP at large - they're just trying to keep it mostly under cover.

What a fucking asshat, even though he's 100 percent right - this *is* going to fuck us (Democrats) up really hard if we can't get it fixed before election time.

Right? RIGHT?!?!? I was like "Who the fuck do you think you're fooling, bro?" True, they might not mirror the core principles upon which the party was founded, but I think you left those in the dust a long time ago, man.

Exactly. The mistake as far as the NC GOP is concerned is not that it misrepresented what they're doing, it is that he unambiguously stated their intent out loud!

There isn't really a WAY to fix it before election time. These laws can no longer be challenged in the courts now that the court struck down part of the Voter Rights law.

Fired? Good.

But I'm calling bullshit on the guy who fired him. What the asshat said on TDS didn't err by way misrepresenting the purpose of pushing these laws. It erred on actually admitting the real purpose OUT LOUD.

It's in stories like these that I idly wonder where our resident "lbr democrats are just as bad c'mon" people are.

Oh, you'll find them if you look at comments at the source, i'm sure.

But yeah - i challenge the 'Dems are just as bad!' crowd to find any quote from any Democrat babbling about 'lazy blacks' and whatnot.

ETA: My bad, this is a Raw story - the comments are mostly by people who have actual, working brains.

Yelton also reiterated his claim that The Daily Show edited his words out of context.

However, if there was any doubt left as to Yelton's true feelings on the subject of race, they were terminally settled this morning, when The Wrap's Tim Molloy contacted him to determine if he was being unfairly portrayed as a racist by the media.

"When a nigger can use the word nigger and it not be considered racist, that’s the utmost racism in the world, and it’s hypocrisy," Yelton told Molloy.

So that settles that.
