I thought we could use some comic relief after all the hair-pullingly frustrating crap going on. Here's a Daily Show segment where Jason Jones calls in a hostage negotiator, and realizes the metaphor of the republicans taking us hostage is actually painfully accurate.

OMG I was dying when I watched that this morning. This plus the amazing interview with Malala Yousafzai made it one of my favorite episodes.

Yesss. I just watched the interview with Malala, and then saw this. Holy shit. Amazeballs.

The sad thing is the hostage metaphor is really very accurate. It's also disturbing how the GOP rep can't come up with anything except vague talking points. She makes statements but she doesn't have anything to back it up. (I'd still probably be astonished by the stupidity of whatever she came up with but the fact that she has nothing is... well... yeah...)
