Christie, you do understand that this is not how it works, right?

You also understand that Republicans do remember the nice things you said about Obama in the wake of Sandy and that they will never forget that you said nice things about a Democrat, because apparently playing nice with the other party is not appreciated these days?

The thing is, IIRC, the Dems did try to negotiate, something like 18 times? And the Reps said no. Then, at the 11th hour, Dems offered to meet with Reps AFTER the Reps passed the spending bill in order to avoid a government shutdown, and the Reps still said no.

It's like you said, OP, it must be nice for Christie to view all this from afar and blame Obama. But at the end of the day, it's pretty damn difficult to lock people in a room when they won't even *meet* with you.
