13 wounded in Chicago shooting

Chicago police said 13 people were shot and wounded in a park on the city’s South Side on Thursday night in an attack believed to be gang related.

The victims include a 3-year-old boy who was shot in the cheek and is in critical condition, police said. According to ABC, the child is out of surgery

It's depressing and horrifying and i think one of the worst parts is, reading on Huffingtonpost, the comments were uniformly HORRIBLE, not one iota of sympathy for those hurt.

Made me so pissed off.

This. I read through the comments on the Chicago Tribune article and a disgusting amount of them were like, "a 3-year-old shouldn't be in a park at 10:15 at night! His parents are horrible for letting him get shot!"

Like... you do realize you're advocating children being shot for being in a public park, right? RIGHT...?

yeah i was disgusted. a lot of people were like, "buy WHY was a three year old out at that time of night?" and blaming the parents, and then the aforementioned sarcastic "I thought Chicago was gun free," blahblahblah.

people are assholes, especially when it comes to internet anonymity.

All of these news stories kinda make me want to gather up all guns and set on them on fire. Even police can't seem to handle them.

Chicago is such a gorgeous city. So sad to see it marred by senseless violence. :(
