Stories like this are why, after I honked my horn at some douche who cut me off this morning, and I ended up next to them at a red light a few minutes later, I was fully prepared to duck behind my door if they pulled a gun out of road rage.
And the really interesting thing is that, any time I've mentioned my (rather rational, imo) fear that one day someone will pull a gun on me in traffic because I honked at them or something, I've been told by others that I should get a gun (this also goes whenever I've told stories of guys following or pulling up next to me to cat call and be disgusting). I'm still not sure how adding a gun to a charged situation will somehow magically fix it without someone ending up dead.
Years ago, my mom and I were tailgated through a construction zone on the interstate by a creepy looking guy on a motorcycle. My mom had to brake abruptly because the car in front of her stopped in the middle of the road to let someone merge.
When we got clear of the construction, he pulled up next to us, yelling, then pulled out a HUGE handgun and pointed it at us before roaring ahead.
His overreaction to a situation that couldn't be helped was ridiculous. Some people just don't need guns, period.
It certainly shook us up. I just wish we'd gotten his plate number. My dad has lots of friends who are in law enforcement - they would have paid him a little visit for sure.
