I can't watch the video right now, but look at this article and subject line with an eye to trigger warnings please.

The actual quote from the video is: "Don't put your mouth near him cause I swear to god I'll break your jaw. I'll break your jaw if you bite him." The reporter's face was pressed up against the shoulder of one of the arresting officer's at the time.

I just want my news, straight up, with context, with all the facts, without sensationalism, without attempts to manipulate my emotions, without being editorialized, without spin.

The ACTUAL CONTEXT was that THE MAN WAS THROWN AGAINST THE OFFICER BY ANOTHER OFFICER. A bit hard to not "put your mouth near" one cop when you're being treated like a human rag-doll by his colleague.

I just want my news, straight up, with context, with all the facts, without sensationalism, without attempts to manipulate my emotions, without being editorialized, without spin.

Yeah... Likewise!

Yes, seriously. My comment was about journalistic integrity, which this piece and the video embedded within it both have but for the sensationalized and emotionally manipulative partial quote someone decided to use for the title. It was not about the actions of the police.

Slight correction: the reporter was shoved into the scaffolding along side the sidewalk, not into an officer. Still, I doubt he had any choice about having his face pressed up against the officer's shoulder, which was the gist of your point.

ETA:

Oh, wait, I see the partial quote is something you added for _P. The article is a strong piece on it's own.

In what possible sense does it misrepresent the full truth, which is that a police officer threatened to break someone's jaw? Does a bullshit conditional really mitigate the intensity of the threat all that much?

And what bias motivates you, in arguing that the excerpt is "sensationalized", to omit the further threat "and somebody will kill you" from what you present as the complete "actual" quote?
