NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Church of Scientology is coming to Harlem.

The church is building a multi-million dollarchapel and community center on East 125th Street between Second and Third Avenues.

It is slated to open next year.

There's a Scientology "church" a little ways north of me in a rougher part of town and I can safely say it's just a gaudy, ostentatious building surrounded by rundown homes and stores with bars on the windows. I have very little faith that they'll do any kind of cleanup that doesn't benefit them directly.
