Christine Butler of Albuquerque, who opposes gay marriage and attended the hearing, said the judge’s ruling violates her rights.

“I don’t want to bring my children or go to places and see same-sex couples showing a lot of affection. ... That’s against God’s law,” said Butler

Mrs. Butler, that is against your god's law. Not everyone believes in the same god you do, or believes in a god at all. Stop making this all about you. It's not.

Also, don't forget Mark 12:30 and 31 - 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

"A group of Republican legislators is planning to file a lawsuit to stop clerks from issuing licenses to same-sex couples."

Of course they are. A story like this would not be complete with some GOP butt hurt and threats to rain on the parade.

Ellins, however, says, “I think the train has pulled out of the station.”

This brings to mind the very amusing mental image of a swarm of GOP politicians running after a train as it leaves the station, dropping in exhaustion one by one, as they find themselves unable to keep up.

...to...not see couples in love? They're not going to start going at it right in front of you, you know. That's still illegal no matter the sexes involved. People can be so pathetic sometimes.

A same-sex chaste kiss = het going at it doggy-style, donchaknow.

There is not enough eyeroll in the world for me to react properly to that ridiculousness.

The decision came in a case involving a lesbian couple who sought an emergency ruling because one of them is dying and they wanted to make certain the state would recognize their marriage, which happened last week in Santa Fe.

Wow, so glad that the decision came in time for them!

Oh, also:
“I don’t want to bring my children or go to places and see same-sex couples showing a lot of affection.

Pretty sure same-sex couples aren't waiting for a marriage certificate to show affection for each other, so....

I live in a country with marriage equality since 2001 and the times I've seen same-sex couples showing a lot affection while I was going on about doing my usual stuff was... never? Maybe some hand holding, but I can't remember seeing a same-sex couple kissing in front of me while in public.
People say I live in a very liberal country, but having rights doesn't mean you won't be called names or worse by those who don't like you having those rights. Marriage equality won't result in a sudden big explosion of public homosexual orgies. I'm pretty sure the reasons same-sex couples aren't showing a lot of affection publicly right now will still be there after those couples are married.

I think part of it is that people in general don't do some of these things, and typically there are laws against it. Your not going to see public homosexual orgies for the same reasons you won't see public heterosexual orgies.
But you do have a point that we may be seeing even less basic affections, like hand holding, kissing, et cetera, due to fear of homophobic violence.
Reminds me of this I found on youtube yesterday:
