One store I worked in seemed to have an issue with people bringing their pets in. I guess rich people just felt entitled to do whatever the fuck they wanted. Yes, we get that you think your little chihuahua in its designer carry bag is an awesome fashion statement, but it doesnt need to go shopping with you. They didn't try to fake it though, they just got all huffy when we would let them know that unless it was a service dog of some sort it wasn't permitted in the store.

Ugh, what is it with some people and insisting they bring their pets everywhere? Leaving the dog at home for a few hours won't make it hate you, I swear. This kind of bullshit is going to make it so that people with legitimate need for service animals aren't going to be allowed to use them.

Also, re: the dog vs credit card guy--PETS AREN'T ACCESSORIES TO GET DATES, ASSHOLE.

It's not about the dog, it's about them and their entitlement issues.

Well, this is just going to make things suck for my friend who has a service Daschund (I seem to recall mostly for mental health related reasons, though possibly also a seizure warning and general fetch dog?) because that's just what she and other people that have 'unusual' service animals needed - people counterfeiting the 'paperwork'.

I hate people.

Yeah... I knew of a girl in university who was training her dog to help alert her when she was about to have a seizure. It had a little vest but no paperwork as she'd not yet figured out how to make him "official". It is so shameful to take the grey area that lets girls like her get the help they need and use it so you can take your pet to a friggin coffee shop with you.

Yup. It just makes it harder for people with a genuine need -- including people with smaller dogs that are often for mental health reasons. It's abused all the time, and then people take it out on everyone, including the people who really need it.
