Legend of Korra, the successor to Avatar - the Last Airbender

Heavily based off of Eastern cultures (well that + Inuits too) with the Avatar being picked out the same way as the Dalai Lama at birth.

Arguably the best dramatic carton in ages, if not the best EVER. Also well-known for having strong female characters, srs situations, and Mark Hamill.

I'm glad the article called out the gender-essentialist crap, and I'm pleased that the Dalai Lama is open to a female successor.

Now get it together, Caholic and Anglican churches.
