Let me see if I understand this. He paid her $150 -- which legally cannot be for sex because oh whoops prostitution is illegal -- to be his escort... and when she refused him sex (which he is not allowed to pay her for), he shot her.

And this is somehow not murder.

I wonder how many women were in that jury.

Since when was someone stealing from you grounds for killing them in the first place? Afaik the only time killing someone is justified by the law is in self defense or to save someone else. Not because someone didn't give you back your money.

You know, if Texas is going to allow shit like this, I may go back there, because I have family living there, but I'll be damned if I'll spend one red cent more than I have to. Gas to get out of town-that's it.

That's how I feel about a number of states these days. My tourist dollars won't amount to much state revenue, but hell if I'm going to spend anything in a state with regressive politics if I can help it.
