Men can dish it, but can never, ever, ever take it? RME. OK, maybe I am being a hypocrite, I don't know, but the way I see it since there hasn't been a systematic almost-global effort to control men, to force men into kitchens, to decide for men to choose raising a child/being a stay-home-dad/husband, it is different than if the positions of the man and woman had been exchanged. It's one thing to poke fun by juxtaposing social norms, and by poking fun at groups that are generally privileged and it's quite another when the less privileged or under-privileged are used as the but of jokes. (And not to mention, come on guys, the man wasn't even forced into skimpy clothes).
Honesly, the main thing annoying about the commercial (IMO), is the mis-characterization of evolution as some sort of upgrade.
I think my problem with the commercial is the implication that women are idiotic enough to settle for marrying some brainless baboon. This is a constant pattern that just feeds into men's entitlement.
I didn't see it that way. I saw that she realized she had settled, then she starts fantasizing about a better man. I got the sense she was going to dump him and move on.
At least, that's what I would have done if I realized that LOL
I was also commenting on a pattern that is commonly seen in western sitcoms. It's almost always a woman (usually from a better, wealthier family) marrying a fat slob who can't seem to do anything right. Boggles the mind.
Reddit users discussing the ad in the "Men's Rights" subreddit described it as "pure filth" and "absolutely appalling."
Well, there's your first problem. Why should we give a shit what self-entitled, privileged MRA fucks think?
I meant Christ, what about all the ads on television and the internet where gleeful dudebros use some product to change a woman to suit their tastes? Hell, I remember running across an ad, where a pair of dudes in a car, through the power of product, fondle a woman several feet away, shrink her clothes before stripping her naked. But not a peep was said about THAT, because boys will be boys and it's just appealing to their tastes, amirite?

What made it worse, was the girl being utterly horrified and humiliated by the experience, making the sexual assault undertones all the more apparent.
