Well, better late than never?

I'm not going to get my hopes up though. Guantánamo is more of an 'attack on freedom' than any bullshit that the right wing comes up with. The fact that it's still open is a disgrace.

It makes me sick to think that there are people in there who are 'dangerous' and yet....have committed no crime. Wtf - are we just going to find some *new* shit hole to put them in?

Gitmo is sickening in every aspect, and I really want him to push this as far as he can.

I have the probably unpopular view that the United states owes an offer of citizenship to any of them who it isn't going to prosecute. They've spent 10+ years directly subject to American rule in the most intrusive way possible, through no action that is illegal in America. I don't give a flying fuck that it wasn't on American soil or after formally going through migration processes... they weren't given a choice about that were they?
