People like this need to realize guns aren't the fetishes in a cargo cult, they're weapons designed to kill people rather more efficiently than old-school weapons like bows and harrows, halberds, spears, maces, and swords did. If some latter-day Caesar Augustus or Alberto Fujimori took despotic power here in the USA, it will be for reasons far deeper than any slipshod imitation of a Third World militia's arsenal has the power to fix. And to put it even more bluntly, pseudomasculine wannabes like this numbnut are more likely to be the bully boys of said hypothetical totalitarian demagogue than they are to be his/her enemy.

"I realize you’re a victim. But that doesn’t entitle you to take my liberty. Why can’t we just say this?"

Because when you think your liberty to do whatever you want with guns trumps their liberty to see their children grow up, you're evil.

The moment your liberties become more important than a child's life is when you yourself deserve to be shipped to the DRC to work with some guerrilla organizations there, they're the only ones who will agree with you.

" I do not hide behind flowery language I do not pull my punches ah, when I’m passionate about something it comes out on the air, it’s real and it will always be that way. Ah, you may not agree with what it is, but you know what I say to you is what I’m thinking, and I’m telling you that’s how it is. It might provoke some thought for you, ah, it might not, but ah, I’m gonna say what I think and I’m going to say what I feel.

What I said Friday was an emotional predecessor to a thought which can and will find a more refined expression by me and others in the future, I guarantee you.

Cool apology! Very apologetic!"

I hope that was sarcasm, which doesn't transfer well in print, but the follow up lines lead me to believe the author thought it was the truth. So let's clear this up:

That was NOT an apology. That was the kind of "non-apology but public pressure is forcing me to comment" that I expect from douchebags in such a situation.

It was definitely sarcasm.

From the paragraph preceding the section you quoted:

Why can’t we just say this? Why? WHYYYYYYY?????? Well, it did not do Ann Coulter any favors when she went after the 9/11 widows. Why does a decent society victimize Ann Coulter by disagreeing with her? And why can’t Bob Davis dribble shit from his mouth, without having to give a fake “apology”? [bolding mine]
Poor Bob.
Now let us read his apology:

Note the "fake 'apology'". The author clearly does not think Davis actually apologized.
