And of course, two straight people could neeeeever enter a fraudulent straight marriage for the benefits and then just live their own lives. Nope, could never happen. Wait, I know three 'couples' who did just that? Well shucks.

Ayup. My boyfriend was in a greencard marriage years ago (she met another US citizen she actually fell for; they had the simplest and most amicable divorce the attorney had ever heard of), and I know something several couples that have gotten married for health benefits.

I suppose it's too much to ask that people stop and think "Hey, I wonder why people are willing to get MARRIED to get basic health care? maybe there's a better way to do that!"
