Part of me admittedly kind of wonders if this storyline isn't partially intended as an effort to re-brand Linda McMahon politically, after she's been so soundly trounced by Democrats in the last two Senate elections.

That's fair. I meant more them having a Tea Party character as a villain to begin with, but maybe they were just playing to their audience. I can definitely imagine what you describe happening once Glenn Beck got involved, though.

While i'm not a big WWE fan - and i don't really like all the sexist stuff and violence, even if it is fake - i like them wanting to make a Latino wrestler the hero.
