My OBGYN has told me to avoid anything like those wipes or douches for years because a healthy vagina is self-cleaning. It ticks me off that those ads just play on a women's insecurities to sell an unhealthy product. Next thing you know they will be telling us to douche with Lysol again.

Hand wipes are different than wipes explicitly made for the pubic area, though. They're like baby wipes in composition.

Mild soap around the edges, and water only around the insides. You can rinse pretty thoroughly with the water, but don't add chemicals!

Just plain water is actually the best thing to wash your labia and vulva with. Some people prefer a very mild soap because of smell issues, but generally, these things don't tend to be mild.

Using a mild wipe externally isn't that bad; it's much like using soap on the outer areas. It's douches that are bad.
