I read the entire thing.

And now I really want a bag of chips.

That does sound good, though I'd probably substitute the parmesan with avocado? I don't think I have any cheese around (I rarely have dairy now, a friend gave it up because of an allergy and I've mostly given it up in solidarity with her...it's fair, she reduced her soy consumption when I found out I had issues with it).

I also just like eating romaine, without anything. People think I'm weird (OK, I AM weird and proud of it), but OMG romaine is pretty damn sweet.

I constantly get weird looks because I prefer caesar salad without dressing--a bed of crisp romaine lettuce with some parm and maybe some croutons and chicken is SO DAMN GOOD that I can't see ruining it with a bunch of fattening awful-tasting dressing.

LOL! I just had this conversation with my cousin in January or something, she was like "you eat salad without dressing" and I was like "yeah, it was weird at first but then I realized veggies actually have flavor...or I can make dressing with avocados and limes" (yes, I love avocados too much...lucky for me I have friends who grow avocados, otherwise they'd be too expensive and I'd be sad).

I make my own dressing! I use goat milk Khefir as a 'ranch' type base, then add dill, spices, whatever takes my fancy. A bit of cider vinegar is good for a dressing base as well.

That sounds really good, reminds me...I've been wanting some fresh dill for a while (I don't think I've ever had any before).

I can't even handle it anymore. If I'm at a party and drinking beer, I'll snack on some chips but am always sorry later. Otherwise, I just don't even want it. I still strive to be a "no, thank you" lady when it comes to processed food at all, but I still have my weak moments. I'm grateful to be able to afford it though I'm working on growing and raising more and more of my own food.

I can't eat too much soy, and since there is soy or a soy derivative in most processed and junk foods for the past few years I've quit most junk foods, and in the recent year I've shifted to a more veganish diet which also limited my junk food consumption. Over these years, I've noticed that I don't recognize most chips, candies etc as foods, not as snacks, not as treats, not as anything. When traveling a couple months ago, I got myself some lays chips, and the salt content made me feel as if I was drying up and turning into a prune, and over Christmas I had a Reece's Piece Peanut Butter Cup (which I used to love) and nearly through up. It's as if it's gotten to the point that my body rejects many of the foods I used to eat. I still eat junk, but mostly in the form of kale chips, black bean-banana-date brownies, or if I feel like indulging myself I get a raw chocolate bar with dates and almonds from my friend's store. And, OMG, I realized the other day that I hadn't had ice cream in like 2 years and in college I used to have ice ( ... )

I must be weird, because I read the whole thing as well, and I don't want any of it.

This.

Some leaves of plain romaine lettuce with a dusting of parmesan sounds really good right about now . . .

That actually sounds really good!

After I read it yesterday, I just wanted some chocolate.

Now that I'm stressed out at work and taking care of a 600-lb pt, the craving has turned into copious amounts of chocolate and alcohol. So much for that diet...

but chocolate is good for you! I have a 90% bar in my desk right now and not only does it make my brain light up but 2 pieces is all I want at a time

My problem is chocolate ice cream. Been eating way too much of it over the years. I just started last week trying to cut my sugar intake down. I've actually already noticed a difference. But damn those sugar cravings are hard.

Although, the occasional treat isn't the end of the world, right? ;D
