Wow, that made me cry. I hope the dog is safe, and with someone who'll love him and tell him what a good boy he is. Dogs, man.

She's a mix of sheltie, collie, and golden retriever. She's my mom's, and she's the best dog ever.

Dogs are turned in to shelters by their owners for stupid reasons like this all day every day, I only hope stories like this can help raise awareness. It blows my mind that a human being would turn in their own pet to a kill shelter and not give a shit that they are pretty much condemning it to death.

My sister works at a vet office and they get pet owners in there all time wanting their pet "put down" for the stupidest freaking reasons. It just boggles my mind.

(her boss takes the money for the procedure and then rehomes the pets)

There was one I read over at Customers_Suck, where a woman had to move for a new job, couldn't take the dog with her, and wanted him put down "Because i don't want him to love someone else more than he loves me!"

SO damn glad I don't work at that vet's office. I'd have gone fucking Leatherface on that woman.
