The father of one of the victims of the Newtown school shootings was heckled during a series of gun control hearings in Hartford, Conn. on Monday.

The hearings, which lasted several hours, brought out around 1500 people to the Capitol, including a number of NRA supporters as well as proponents on harsher gun control measures.

Is it just me, or are a lot of these gun-obsessed, Second Amendment-loving, NRA-supporting people kind of on the low end of the IQ bar? I mean, they do understand that no one wants to take away their guns right, just those assault weapons? I mean, what next in the name of the Second Amendment? Grenade launchers?

All my feels goes out to Neil Heslin. It made my heart break, listening him speak about his son on CNN after the shooting last year.

If they can read right past the part in the really very short amendment that says "well regulated militia" every time, then I'd say they aren't too bright. Being able to be part of a strictly controlled paramilitary organization at times of need does not equal lawless gun ownership and use.
