So instead of just giving our self a bigger and bigger credit card, maybe we should pass a budget where we don't spend so much money? Seriously. Everytime this shit comes up it's because we just keep pushing the inevitable back by another six months there, and another two months here. You can't adequately track and manage your money if you don't keep track of where the Hell it's going. Full Federal Budget. Fucktons of spending cuts. Hell, raise taxes. Fix the damn problem. Treat the causes, not the symptoms. Running around worrying about whether you left the oven on while the house is actively burning down.

ugh ia but this congress is absolutely not going to cut what needs to be cut because it is made up of fucking children who refuse to play nice with each other to accomplish anything that benefits the majority of Americans.

They're more interested in making sure their pet projects are funded than in eliminating wasteful government spending. Say "spending cuts" and they'll start slashing things that help people while keeping the things that fill their own pockets.

Fuck the selfishness of politicians, seriously.

Or maybe we could collect the money we're due and never collect? If the biggest corporations and wealthiest people paid their share, if Churches weren't exempt, if tax laws didn't have so many loopholes for foreign corporations- if we collected the revenue we're legally due, we'd have a surplus, not a deficit.

This is just one example:

If Churches weren't exempt you wouldn't have separation of Church and State.

As for the rest... if we were "due" that money, then the IRS would collect it. If they're taking advantage of the tax code in place... that would be the tax code that our legislators put there. Maybe if they got off their ass they could fix the problem!

I just love that we're doing this AGAIN. I'm on disability, as is my son. That's our entire income, minus child support (which my ex can pay because of his veterans disability pay). AUGH.
