OF COURSE congress has blocked research. They're bought and paid for by the NRA, and the NRA doesn't want any effective gun violence research coming out.

But Tiahrt, her onetime colleague, says that's not the core of the problem.

"We have to get to the cause of it: mental illness, the violence in our culture," he says. "Those are the things that I think Vice President Biden ought to be focusing on."

Nice diversion tactic, but no. STFD Tiahrt.

Circular logic here...the NRA can say there's no studies to prove guns increases gun violence or gun injuries because nobody is allowed to collect the damn data.

Rather like marijuana - research is blocked, so no good data, but when you try to say it's got medical uses, they scream 'no data to support this!!!'

Fuck the NRA.
