Grothman slammed "irresponsible public school districts" in Wisconsin for trying "to tell a new generation that blacks have a separate holiday than Christians."
Forgive my out-of-the-loopness, but I've never met a...how to describe this accurately...non-recent immigrant African-American...that celebrates Kwanzaa, though not everywhere I've lived had large African-American populations besides Baltimore. Are there any statistics on the percentages that celebrate? I'm curious. Most holidays are holidays of the majority. In Singapore it's balanced between Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu and Christian holidays because they are representative of the percentages that celebrate.
Why does it matter whether it's celebrated by a large number of people or a small number of people? Non-Christians only make up 20% of the US population, and schools still talk about non-Christian holidays.

There is so much wrong with this statement that I don't even know where to begin. I feel like standing on my head and humming the Star Trek: Voyager theme backwards would make more sense to me at this point.
