I don't know about the 'good news' tag. Sure, the Federal Government isn't letting Texas bully them into ignoring regulations, but it seems that Texas is endangering the health of women all over the state by allowing PP to be defunded out of spite. PP should be able to continue operations and simply tell Texas "We're Federal, you don't run us, push off". Federal health branches need to be able to function without state support- or interference.

Thank you for making this comment...I was actually in here to post the same sort of thing until I saw your comment. When the healthcare of some 40% of the women in TX is at risk from this decision, there are no winners. :/

That being said, Perry and his cronies should be run out of the state for even thinking of this shit.

I'm torn on this. On the one hand, fuck Texas legislature--it's ridiculous shit like this that gives Christians a bad name and makes conservative states into a laughingstock. On the other hand...I really wish there was a better compromise that both held the federal government to its' own principles but didn't leave thousands of women with bad or no healthcare. I wish, but I frankly have no idea what that other option could be. :/

I guess I'm going with option one: fuck Texas.

I feel so torn. One hand I want to be like see my fellow Texans who voted for Perry & his croonies I warned you they would ruin this state now reap what you have sown but on the other hand my heart for all those people who are going to be so screwed over makes me want to cry.
