I hated it too, mostly because I am crazy uncoordinated but also because I usually didn't like the music that went along with it.

I was tiny before my growth spurt and usually one of the youngest in the group to begin with. Red Rover sucked too. (I didn't like competitive games in general, but ones where I was likely to get knocked over really sucked.)
