ETA is a terrorist group that has killed almost 1000 innocent people. It's NOT only a "Basque separatist group", just to be clear. They are terrorists. And I wish that international press would call it for what it really is.

Per the article:

Eta is believed to be responsible for more than 800 deaths, and is considered a terrorist organisation by the European Union and the US.

It looks like they are.

for what it's worth I agree with bbmaniac. the language of the article is rather 'fluffy', as if they are tip-toeing around the issue, not wanting to make any outright claim either way. the fact that they first call the group a separatist group and only later say the "oh, btw, a bunch of countries refer to the group as a terrorist group"... yeah. because the subtlety in language does matter, and they aren't calling Eta a terrorist group, they're calling Eta a separatist group.

i'm not saying Spain has acted right, as i understand there's some alleged human right's violations there with how they tried to crack down on this group, but Eta has proven itself to be a terrorist group. while some times people can go on about "one person's freedom fighter"... the group doesn't have the full support of even 1% of people living in that region (which is why they are going to disband, i'm guessing).
