Two victims and four victims' relatives will speak, by video conference and through an interpreter, to a military courtroom at Joint Base Lewis-McChord during an overnight session to accommodate the time difference.

Nine children were among the victims, and 11 of the victims were from the same family.

This is horrible. I hope that more information about the proceedings is made public as this goes forward, because, IIRC, military courts are secretive in comparison to regular court proceedings.

I feel horrible for his victims, including his wife and two children forced to live with the aftermath of his destruction.

i hope there is a full investigation done into this if it's necessary... and that its findings would be made public. how did someone capable of such an atrocity get sent out to Afghanistan? Did the military do all reasonable checks, did they take his mental health seriously? How was he able to go kill civilians, come back, go out again and kill more? What are they going to do to prevent stuff like this in the future?

While he needs to stand trial and it could just be an incident that the military could not have prevented, I would think there might well be some serious investigation that should be done into how the military can prevent the risk of such a thing happening again in the future.
