My younger brother, who has Asperger's, was routinely targeted and harassed all through school. It tended only to stop when his older sister screamed at the bullies to knock it the fuck off.
Aww, this is nice. While I think it's a little strange that the mom reached out to the school's quarterback (and not school's administration, for whatever good they might do...), I'm glad he and his mates stepped up to the plate and reached out to Chy and make her feel good about herself.
I think that she was probably well aware that the administration wouldn't give her any help. Probably in the past they gave her some line about 'well, we don't want to pass on names, we'll handle this, blah blah', and nothing got done.
Ah ha - watching the video at the source, the QB is apparently a family friend, so they're neighbors/same church/co-workers or something. Makes sense.
Ahh, that definitely makes it less odd! I thought so too about her possibly being jerked around by the administration, but I still wondered why she reached out to the star QB specifically and that answers that. :)
