Hulk Biden is the best. You don't want Biden to stop laughing because then he either turns into Hulk Biden and wants to smash everything or he turns into somber Biden and you want to cry. :(

Ok, so I have mentioned here before that I am applying to a Ph.D. program and I took the GRE once. I was not thrilled with my verbal (161- 86th percentile) and quantitative (148- 35th percentile) which is given immediately after completing the computer exam, but I've been waiting for official scores for my analytical writing score.
Found out today I got a 6.0! Which is the highest possible score (99th percentile). I am very happy about that! At least I did good on writing :)

I also have all 3 people I asked agreed to write letters for me, one person has submitted hers already. And meeting with the third person I asked next week to go over my statement of purpose and such.

So I am happy today with that :)

Well at the 6.0, not so much at the rest, lol. When do you take it again?

It has been a horrible week - dead refrigerator and sewage backup in the basement. But now I have rejoined the 21st century with cold foods and flush toilets. I'm just going to snuggle with my 9-year-old daughter and watch some InuYasha.

UGH... I've dealt with sewage backups and man they are NOT pretty. I really sympathise and hope it's cleaned up soon. :/ BLEACH ALL THE THINGS.

Computer hardware troubleshooting? keeperofthekeys October 12 2012, 23:43:06 UTC
So, I've been having issues with my (4 year old) laptop screen for some time. It will flicker, accompanied by buzzing sounds, and then occasionally go totally dim (not black--I could still see the screen, but just barely). Oddly, switching off the lap top monitor and onto an external monitor, then back again would correct the problem temporarily ( ... )

LCD backlight maybe?

My IT SO wants to know if it's an electrical buzz or a mechanical buzz (like a loose part).

He says that means it's likely an open ground. No solutions really come to mind... there could be a wire loose, any kinda thing :C
