This made me tear up. I NEEDED to see this. I needed to remind myself how fortunate I am and how blessed I am just to have my civil liberties and my freedom. It breaks my heart to know how awful the world can be and how much pain and suffering some of those less fortunate have to endure.

I honestly cannot begin to fathom that amount of pain in the world.

Heartbreaking post. Just like to add, there are slaves in the west too, particularly in Florida where migrant vegetable pickers are regularly chained up. Read the book "Tomatoland" for more information. Next time you slice a tomato/lettuce/onion to put on your burger, remember that there is a good chance it was picked by a slave.

It is depressing and horrifying that humanity can sink this low, be this cruel and ugly, can care so little.

We haven't come forward nearly as far as we like to think we have.
