Everyone now and then, I have to keep up on news like this to remind me how sadly common it is that basic human rights are polling at "only" 50%.

I'm hopeful that it will pass, but all the polls show a pretty even split, so it's going to come down to who bothers to vote.

It's odd that there's been so little campaigning. There's been a fair number of Letters to the Editor and one of the congressional candidates did a photo op at Chick-fil-A, but the big thing is the ballot measure for the new casino. That's the one with the TV ads (so many ads) and roadside signs. Everyone knows that we're voting on same-sex marriage, but no one seems to be doing much to sway voters one way or the other.

ngl one of the reasons I moved to Maryland was because of all of the LGBT protections by law (not that that guarantees anything, of course, but it's better than Pennsylvania).
