That's um... Wow. Really surprised that AC's show would run something like that.

Anderson's morning show has always been sensational side. I can see him and his producers rationalizing this as just letting this woman tell her story, or thinking it's a throwback to some of the topics Donahue used to do.

Not acquainted with this woman's story, but I suspect she may have been searching for some justification for her feelings. I can't judge her for that, and of course I'm not going to question her trans* identity. Cooper and his team, however, should have known better than to plan this segment in the first place

even if they want to go down the route of the hair loss treatment and presenting it as a possible explanation in this case - misgendering the trans woman?

not watched the show of course, as i'm not in the US, but this does make me cringe.

Except for the opening where Cooper introduced her as a man and called her they and them, Anderson and the doctor referred to her by her correct gender. the crew even corrected people's twitter messages when it appeared they had misgendered Mandi.
