Around 10:30 am, the taping started.
- Oprah came on the stage wearing a blue kind of overall getup. Don't really know how to describe it with a red belt and red heels. Gale was there she was wearing an orange dress. She mentioned how it was Mayor Daley's first time on the Oprah show. Talked about Michael's private life, his dog and house. Not much about his private life other than he is still single.
- The Olympians came out of the East and West entrances of the pavillion converging to the stage. It was pretty cool.
- First segment was about swimming. They had Michael Phelps talk about the medals and the heats he participated in. Jason Lezak was also talked about how he trained himself. Also brought on the rest of the men's relay team. Cullen Jones was mentioned about how he was the 2nd African American to receive a gold medal in swimming. Also brought up Mommy Phelps.
- Second segment was about gymnastics. They had Nastia Liukin and Shawna Johnson. Talked about how Nastia was from gymnastics royalty. Mentioned how Shawna started gymnastics at the age of 3.
- After that they mentioned the brother and sister fencers who won silver medals in the fencing competition.
- Third segment was about basketball. They brought out the men's basketball team. Talked about how crazy it was for Kobe out there. They talked about how they changed basketball along the way. Oprah made the women's basketball team stand up. They got applause from the audience.
- Fourth segment was about Hugh McCutcheon. Head coach of the men's volleyball team. They showed the team and talked about how they were playing for him. Mentioned the women's volleyball team and they got applause.
- They mentioned the youngest American to win a gold medal in wrestling. He was 21 years old. Forgot his name.
- Talked about Dara Torres. Talked about the medals and her baby girl. She talked about the fact that she can eat about the same amount of calories Michael Phelps can.
- Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor were next. They brought out a volleyball and gave it to Oprah. It was cool. How Misty May was going to be on Dancing with the Stars. Mentioned the men's beach volleyball team.
- After that it was about track and field. Mentioned Brian Clay who won the decathlon. Brought out the the women's 4x400m relay team.
