NEW SONG - DEAD INSIDE

thoughts? As with any new Muse song, I giggled through my first listen. For my second listen I watched the video/read the lyrics and I DIG it a LOT. It sounds pretty radio friendly so I'm hoping I'll hear it!

Also an interview:

raging droner, dat bass, your ass belongs to me now, emotional beefcakes, sparkletext, we respect muse for their minds, interviews: radio, casual slutty poses, aluhsin has espn, matt bellamy: the greatest guy, we're not chocolates in the ocean, get in loser we're watching muse, sneak attack muse are back, alison excepts epic comments, deep cheese post

I did the same bit of giggling, though mostly because my ipod was too loud and the initial "DEAD INSIDE!!1!" scared the shit out of me.

Goddamn this song is amazing. I've had it on repeat all day. The music smacks of Radio Gaga and the 80's synth-pop is awesome. And of course the vocals are bloody incredible. Really looking forward to screaming "DEAD INSIDE" at the gigs. Also wanting all the guys on stage to chant it together. Just throwing that out there.

Oh and if anyone wants to hear Matt's interview on Triple J this morning, you can here. I rather like the ~subtle~ question about if the songs have any personal influence and Matt sort-of-kinda-basically says yes.

Also they have to release the music video asap I need new icons.

the interview was so cute for that reason! must be nice for the hardcore fans to know that matt recognizes them. probably hard not to, i recognize a handful of them from gigs i've been to, haha.

I'm still on the fence about it but I do like that it is radio friendly.

Yeah like I can see why this was released as a single because psycho is not radio friendly although I like that song better.
But now like a day later it's growing on me a bit.

Muse has redecorated the idea of what a "back to basics hard rock album" sounds like. Ugh I miss eleven.

I will say what I've been saying all over the damn place... 2:35 onward is everything. When Matt sings "Don't leave me out in the cold..." Is like. So full of emotion. It's nuts.

However I have weird icky feelings over the idea that the "protagonist" of Matt's little rock opera was transformed from "the greatest guy" into a soulless psycho killing machine because a woman wouldn't open up to him. What kind of Elliot Rodger bullshit?

i kind of wish i just had an instrumental version bc those lyrics are what's ruining the song for me tbh. it's like, did you even try???

although maybe it's not so much that the woman didn't love him and he turned into a psycho killer, but he was more susceptible to manipulation because he was feeling vulnerable? that's kind of what it sounds like from matt's triple j interview. just playing devil's advocate.
