Recommended reading: Arthurian legends/books?

Have you ever read 'Queen of Camelot' by Nancy McKenzie? Originally it was two books, 'The Child Queen' and 'The High Queen', but more recently the editors compiled it into the one volume.
Anyway, it's the Arthurian legends, but told from Gwen's point of view. It's one of the reason why I try to hold out faith that the writers will do *something* ( Read more... )

Yes! Thank you for making this post! I always end up empty handed when I go to Chapters and feel like a huge dork for just looking for anything Camelot like.

The top of my list are two authors: Helen Hollick and Bernard Cornwell.

Helen wrote The Pendragon's Banner Trilogy and they are FANTASTIC.

My personal favorite telling of the Arthurian legends is Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle. And I love Jack Whyte's Calumud series, as well.

Well, you could always go for the classics: Geoffrey of Monmouth, the Mabinogion, Chrétien de Troyes, Wace, Layamon, Alliterative Morte Arthur, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Sir Thomas Malory...
