I went last year, I'm not going this year and it's partially because last year was so perfect, ngl.

There was a panel and a lottery drawn signing. However to be in line for the signing you couldn't be in line for the panel. So I had resigned myself to the fact that I was just gonna have a really, really good seat at the panel. Until it was actually 6 am the day of, and I was lining up to get in, and I was like fuck it. So I went in line for the signing, my mom went in line for the panel. The only problem with doing that is if my mom got into the room before I was finished with the signing line, I wouldn't be able to meet her and get in. However it all worked out! luck was on my side for once.

The prize was a signed poster last year for the best question. (Though I remember them picking more than one question, so idk if there was more than one poster or?)

Sounds like swagfail. One poster (or maybe, what five?), that's just sad. Merlin has ridiculous merch out there, why not do some crazy questions for the action figures or a dvd and then throw some posters out randomly. I did honestly expect more from a big con. Do other panels get a little crazier?

And whaaaaat, I don't know what I would do in that situation. I'd probably go for the signing too and then hope I could get into the room at the back at least. Fuck the panel, I'll see it on youtube anyway, I want to look Colin in the eye.

No? not really? I mean, I've gone the past three years and the majority of stuff that I got was t-shirts. Generally you get tickets that are redeemable in the swag room at a later time, as opposed to being handed out at the panel.

Also I have proof of our eye contact!. Well, right here his eyes are all crinkly because he's laughing, but I have other personal pictures from another angle that actually show it.

Well actually t-shirts are a big step up from the freebies at my local con '_' And tickets sound like a good idea, keeps people from fighting over thrown things and you have less to carry.

Ooooh I am giggling madly on your behalf *_*

I was there last year as well, and chose panel over autograph-line, since you're standing in line for the sheer chance to possibly get an autograph ticket. Which is an SDCC thing, not set up by the Beeb. (Unlike the swag, sigh.)

I'm still good with panel this year. I'm old; I've done my share of autograph lines. 2 hours of standing in exchange for 30 seconds of facetime with someone who'll never remember me while I babble like a fool because I can't think of anything clever to say was fun when I was 21, but at 38 it's outlived both its appeal and the ability of my lower back to deal with the wait.

Yay! I'm so glad Bradley and Katie are joining Colin and Anthony (dnw tptb)
On one hand I'm sad that Angel can't go but on the other I'm happy because it means a greater chance of more(/less people sitting between them) BK! XD

C'mon awesome Merlin fans who are going, I'm depending you guys to get some great pics and vids!
