I totally cannot imagine Stephen Fry spending hours in makeup and prosthetics every day. He's got too much else to do. The LOTR cast was composed of people for whom it was the big break, except Ian McKellan. I expect the Hobbit cast to be like that: some familiar names, some unknowns.
