After the finale, I was satisfied. I enjoyed every second of the finale, despite believing it to be one of only 3 episodes of the final season that were up to the normal LOST standard I had become accustomed to. I didn't care much for unanswered questions such as Walt's powers, I watched LOST for characters, not mythology. After my most recent re-

I read that they didn't want to explain anything more about Ilana after the final because they didn't want it to become an internet scavenger hunt. I don't think people doing the scavenging mind that much so why bother withholding?
For me I would have liked it if Ilana was included in "Across the Sea," where they jump through Jabob's/MIB's timeline and her backstory explained there. And she totally should have gone out fighting while protecting the candidates, like lostsailors said. Not enough time? Whatever.

For some reason, I don't like the idea of her being Jacob's daughter. Maybe I just like the idea of Jacob being a basement dweller mama's boy with no social or romantic skills.
I really just like the idea of Ilana being a devoted follower of Jacob. Perhaps he did a lot for her throughout her life (besides healing her of burns) and for that reason she'll do anything for him.

ngl, I really like this idea too.

Exactly true about Jacob, too.

I call Claire! I'll get to work on not showering ASAP.
I think Ilana may have been to the island before. I'm not sure how, but I think she accidentally ended up there (truly wasn't brought there by Jacob) and formed a tight bound with Jacob. She never joined The Others and Jacob never even told her about them, because he wanted an entirely separate person as a friend who wasn't involved with their shenanigans.
Basicallllly I really have no good theories, but I always had a strong sense that events of season 5 and 6 weren't her first time on the island.

I like the idea of Ilana being Jacob's daughter; mainly because I would like to think Jacob would have gone off Island and was like OMGZ WIMMIN. Hahaha, then Ilana happened.
Tbh, though, I adore what phoebebeesly said about Ilana coming to the Island and forming a tight bond with Jacob and him not telling her about the Others because he wants a friend. Seriously, that may become my head canon because OMFG ♥
It's bullshit that they didn't continue her story because they didn't 'have time.' I read somewhere they had everything figured out by the end of season three, so surely they would have at least considered how much they could fit in? Pff.
I'm still angry about her death, even if I do laugh everytime I see it. Sorry, Ilana :(

Bullshit. YOU HAD SINCE S3 when the end date was announced and you knew EXACTLY how many episodes there would be in total. Any semi-smart showrunner would plan all major arcs in advance and decide exactly how much time they would take up. Stop acting like someone pulled the rug from under you and suddenly canceled the show.

I mean obviously little things change. Lose this scene. Shorten this. But a WHOLE CHARACTER?! And they did this a few times in Season Six.
