Lost had one of the most distinctive soundtracks on television, ranging from "La Mer" to
Willie Nelson, Geronimo Jackson to

It reminds me of Kate and Sawyer thinking of Jack and Juliet respectively after leaving the Island:
Well I woke up today and you're on the other side
Our time will never come again
But if you can still dream
Close your eyes it will seem
That you can see me now and then
Also Jack thinking of Kate:
So have a good life
Do it for me
Make me so proud
Like you want me to be
Where ever you are
I'm thinking of you oceans apart
I want you to know
YES I am a huge sap, and I apologise in advance for the length of this comment, lol.

I love the variety of music they used on Lost, besides the fantastic soundtrack by Michael Giacchino. Mn so many tv shows when they want to show off their musical taste they go right to jazz. Always jazz. Or blues. This drove me crazy on Star Trek TNG and DS9.
Using Make Your Own Kind of Music in a suspenseful/creepy/WTF scene? FUCKING GENIUS.
One song I wish they'd have used: Mad World.
It makes for some awesome vids, though.
This one will depress the hell out of you:

the most surprising music choices can be the most effective.
I agree on "Mad World," although I've seen it used so many times that it's a bit of overkill now.

I really love almost all the scores, honestly. I was rewatching some of Season 1 and just... Man.
Musical Montages at the end of episodes get me every time, too, whether it be the Giacchino's music or a song from Hurley's walkman.

I'm a sucker for montages, so yes. MONTAGE POWER
