I always wondered what would have happened, if for example, the Potter's had a daughter and the chosen one was non-gender specific, Voldemort kills them and then she attends Hogwarts looking like a mini Lily, Snape wouldn't have been quite so cruel imo.

omg, i have always loved this idea. when we found out that Neville was born on the same day as Harry and how close each of them were to having different lives oh god

Neville would still have his grandmother and wouldn't be an orphan.
Snape wouldn't be a teacher because he'd still be bitter about Lily choosing James so he wouldn't have come to the good side.
Which would mean that there wouldn't have been any help from Snape to Neville, so someone else would have had to give him hints.

OH AND IF NEVILLE WAS IN THE TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT, HE WOULDN'T GET PAST THE DRAGONS ON A BROOMSTICK BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, HE'S RUBBISH AT IT.
