these chapters are really stressful for me to read because I'm so devastated every time that Harry thinks he will get to go with Sirius and then his dream is crushed

it actually really makes my stomach hurt to even think about it lol

What most struck me about these chapters is how much the movie has influenced my memories of what happens in them. And how different the movie is from the book in certain key ways ( ... )

I think the kids were pretty much fine with Lupin being a werewolf (not Malfoy and his crew though), it's just parents that would freak out.
I don't know if it's a good metaphor, but it reminds me how often kids/teachers with HIV are treated at schools. It's always the parents that are 'concerned'.

iirc JKR said in an interview somewhere she saw werewolves in the HP universe to be a metaphor for people with HIV in the real~ world with the stigma and everything

I think time travelling is handled pretty well in this book. It's suggested that at some points Harry and Hermione were already there before, but it sort of had a different ending? Like, idk, everytime they go back in time, the reality is slightly different? It's mind-blowing, really.

Or Buckbeak and Sirius were already about to be saved, but in order for this to happen, Harry and Hermione had to go back in time again and again.

lmao it just confuses me so much.Like asdfvjkl;

like the ron they are with is a different Ron cause they went back in time and left original ron behind

idek if that makes sense lmao

Well, true and not true. I'd say he's not really different, because they don't create a parallel world with this trip if Buckbeak and Sirius were about to be saved anyway. If they do leave Ron in the reality where Sirius died, then I'd say it's a different world and 'different' (ofc his character is the same) Ron.

lol

Also like you can't go back and change stuff really,like you just make whatever happened happen,like set it in motion~

idk,I read that somewhere once

But you don't really know what happened. You don't know if Sirius would really die. You don't even know if Buckbeak died, because the trio never sees it in the book.
