The thing is, I think it's just Ian. Ryan's made some questionable decisions, but in his interview, he made it clear that this is it, this is senior year. The deliberate age references (in Prom Queen and New York) came after contract negotiations happened. I think (and hope, TBH) that they all will graduate but that Ian isn't saying so because he doesn't want articles coming out about how much the show will suck without the original cast. He should have just said that he's not at liberty to say. I have been seriously side-eyeing this man ever since the Christmas episode. Brad seems less focused on the big picture and more on the characters, so he doesn't get as much of my rage.
One of the problems I have with them is that they're never on the same page when it comes to practically anything. How does it look on them when they keep contradicting each other? All three of them have varying degrees of word-vomit it seems.
Uggh this whole thing. Keeping it fresh shouldn't be on the forefront of your mind. Keeping it GOOD and interesting and having character continuity keeps it fresh, not gimics! And the fucking pacing with the songs stuff? If you related the damn songs to what the characters are going through, then it wouldn't just be "the singing kids."
Also, if they compete internationally, then they have to have won Nationals. That's how things work. Whatever, if they don't win next year then I'll be annoyed. That should to be the pay off for the characters.
