IKR- pretty sure I've seen dozens of generally bad fics with some variation of this plot while trawling through FF.net through the years.

One'd think that with only a couple episodes left, the writers would have tried a little harder and summoned what little bits of creativity & originality they might have left to try and go out on a high note, but apparently, that's a bit much to ask....
