That isn't a real graduation robe. Because I'm pretty sure all colleges use black gowns and none of them are fitted around the waist the way that is. I wonder what this was for

when i graduated from my college, my gown was silver

I actually think it's way rarer for people to graduate in black gowns than in their school colors. But yeah idk about that cinch at all.

Well I guess in TX we all use black robes for college. I graduated in black and all my friends at other schools graduated in black. The only time you graduated in school colors was at your HS graduation.
