Has it ever been established what grade the gleekers are in?

I, for the life of me, cannot recall in all my episode viewing that they've ever said what grade the kids are in. The Susie Pepper incident in "Ballad" happened two years before, and Rachel seems very familiar with who Susie Pepper is, so does that mean they are Juniors? I suppose some of them could be Sophomores, but does anyone have any certainty ( Read more... )

I'm not sure, but hopefully they're not in their final grade! I want the show to go on for a long time! (Which will be pretty hilarious when Mark and Cory are 30 and still playing High School kids! :P)

... I feel like someone's said in an interview that the Glee kids are 16/17, but I may just be imagining that.

ETA: Oh! In the first episode Rachel says: "Look, I know I'm just a sophomore, but I can feel the clock ticking away and I don't want to leave high school with nothing to show for it." Source

Assuming that in the US (I'm Australian) they don't have mixed grades for some classes, if we know who has classes with Rachel then we can figure out who is in the same grade as her!

Some classes mix grades, like foreign language classes. I had French with eleventh graders when I was a ninth grader and on the show, it seems like everyone has Spanish together. I dunno, maybe they didn't think that through haha

In Australia some schools have mixed classes for year 11 and 12 so I'm not surprised if the same is true in the US. Thanks for the reply!

If Kurt's recently had his 16th birthday, then I really doubt that anyone is supposed to be younger than him. They're either the same age (most likely) or older.

There is one episode, I believe the one where Rachel left Glee for a bit to do the school musical, where Rachel states that she is a sophmore. Other than that, dk.

In the director's cut, Rachel says she's a sophmore. I'm not sure if all of them are though

Its best just to think they are all Sophomores and 16.
