the game has gotten betterjazzypomJune 15 2019, 23:42:11 UTC
I watched the 2015 world cup and the field seemed too big, and the women couldn't control the ball (apart from say, the US). England were okay but not great. Fast forward to now (with the Women's Euros in between), the women have gotten faster, stronger and their ball control is much better.
In South America, supposedly for the teams who participate in Copa Libatores, they have to feature women's teams. In England, there's the WSL and more women are going professional (supposedly, that's the only game that's expanding England, girls' football).
It helps that other teams have caught up with the US (the Netherlands, France and England) which is making the game interesting. And save say, the weaker teams like Jamaica and Thailand, the rest of the teams in the pack are pretty even.
